Getting there....

We just finalized the house plans, I will post them once I have a copy.  We have been so busy getting this house ready to sell.  It is a quaint old summer cottage turned year round home circa 1920.  I do truly love old and charming, but it definitely comes with a price.  Seems like every new project we start opens up a whole new can of worms.  Needless to say we are bursting with excitement for a NEW home!!!

One of our last big projects was re-doing the full bath.  My handy hubby did it all himself, even made the vanity (so proud!).  I was only in charge of painting and hitting up Home Goods for the goodies, I love that store! I was practically skipping through the aisles.  Here are the before and after pics - a little different eh?!?!  I will work on getting some other pictures together of other projects we (ok, mainly he) has done around here.  I'm the brains, he's the braun!!!

New House Plans!

Happy 2011!  Since I last wrote I have turned another year older and acquired another mortgage.... but even better, we decided on the new house plans and had our first sit down with the architect.  This is a picture of the plans we are working on, it is a four bedroom cape and I love it!  I have been a bit overwhelmed to work on this blog thing but my sweet first follower Teresa inspired me to get back on track. Thanks for the kinds words and inspiration :D

A New Adventure?!?!

I am 32 years old.  I believe that I am an artistic, creative person that has spent my life stuck in an uninventive body.  Maybe it was due to lack of discipline, lack of direction, or lack of time - whatever it may be, I am setting out to change that. I am passionate about creativity and design but have always been discouraged by my lack there of.  I recently planned our wedding, and with a lot of hard work and concentrated time I think it turned out pretty fabulous.  The "Big Day" was the greatest day of my life!  Firstly of course because I married a wonderful man - but secondly seeing the result of what I (ME! plain jane) was able to pull together.  I felt proud.  I felt inspired!

So now, here, I am setting off on something new - something I have ALWAYS dreamed of doing.  I wish you could see the smile on my face just typing this... we get to design and build our new home!  As overwhelming as this is to me, and my lack there of, I still feel like a child on Christmas Eve! And where better than to feel like a child than the road you spent years skipping along, biking along, driving along and now creating along - the Old Road is the New Road.  The Old Road I spent my first 18 years on is the site of our New Home.... our New Adventure.....
